1.Cultural attitudes and beliefs about health, illness, healthcare, hospitalization,the use of medications , and the use of complimentary therapies are derived from each other experiences.They vary according to the person's ethnic and cultural background. A person from another culture may have different view of personal health practices than the healthcare practitioner.Similarly, people from some ethnic and cultural backgrounds willnot complain of pain even when it is severe, because outward expressions of pain are considered unacceptable.The history of the present health concern or illness is the single most important factor in helping the healthcare team to arrive at a diagnosis or determine the person's needs.

Cultural differences influence beliefs of patient and families about medical care and their ability to understand, manage, and cope with the course of an illness, the meaning of a diagnosis, and the outcomes. Patients and their families bring culture specific ideas and values related to concepts of health and illness, reporting of symptoms, expectations for how health care will be delivered, and beliefs concerning medication and treatments.

Cultural and ethical influences may be a hindrance for the interviewer while asking questions and also during physical exmination.

2.My previous experience working with acute and chronic care patients provide me the skills to gather information .

I usually rely on my comunication skill. I communicate with the patients in a way which creates more respect towards overall healthcare providers .I will create good rapport with the people and be an active listener to them.

The hindrance may be language sometimes if the patient doesnot know my language.Cultural differences ,and perception may also be a hindrance.
