Decreasing of the progesterone cause the endometrium to be sloughed off during mensturation. When no egg is fertilized and no embryo is comceived then the progesterone level decreases and the endometrioum can not be maintained so it breakes and menstural bleeding occur.

LH or luteinizing hormone is responsible for ovulation of a mature egg in afemale.
