Here it is two tailed test

Z critical values are - 1.96 & 1.96 [since from standard normal table]

test statistic z = (x - u)/(s/sqrt(n))

substitute values

= (10.1 - 8.5)/(3.2/sqrt(46))

= 3.39

Z critical = 1.96

P value = 0.0006989 [since from z table]

= 0.0007

Here p value < alpha, so we reject Ho.

So there is sufficient evidence to support the claim.
