Focus of our research project:
Relationship between subjective norm, attitude and perceived
Behavioral control and the intention to buy organic products on a regular basis.

Our hypotheses:

Attitude and intention:
The more positive the attitude towards the purchase of organic products, the stronger the intention to buy organic products.

Subjective norm and intention:
The more consumers assume that the purchase of organic products is rated positively by the people who are important to them, the stronger their intention to buy organic products.

Perceived behavioral control and intention:
The closer the home is to the organic market, the sooner organic products are bought.

Organic food is defined as a product from a farming system which avoids the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. The principles used in the farming system apply the benefits of modern scientific understanding and technologies to offer a more sustainable food production. Genetically modified organisms and antibiotics are prohibited in organic standards for animal husbandry while only 30 attitudes are permitted in certain conditions. Therefore purchase of organic foods can be the same as an action motivated by belief about a healthy and possibly good taste of these products as well as by beliefs about the positive impact on the environment and welfare of production animals.

Organic foods do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. organic food contains fewer chemical residues and veterinary drugs compared to conventional food. environmental contaminants however are likely to be found in food of both production. organic food contains only one third of pesticides that conventional food does.With respect to absence of pesticides and fertilizers in organic production organic fruits and vegetables have more bio chemical energy to synthesise beneficial secondary plant metabolism such as polyphenolic anti oxides as well as naturally occurring toxins. nutritional content is a quality aspect that consumers link to personal health. high content of Vitamins more nourishing meals and a healthy diet where reported as reasons for purchasing organic food.

In recent years organic food has been attaining a growing consumer demand. a number of reasons I have driven this organic food market. The most significant motive of choosing organic food is the healthy factor followed by the environmental and animal welfare factors. Some consumers buy organic food as they perceive a difference in foot quality.

Price premium is the additional percentage charged on organic food when compared with the price of conventional food.Consumers are willing to pay prices similar to those prevailing at present. When people continuously purchase organic food it shows consumer support for Organics and then companies will try to meet that demand with better and more competitive price

We may be hearing that organic food isn't any more nutritious,So don't waste your money. However the soil Association notes that an organic diet increases the consumption of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and essential fatty acids. health and safety should not be confused with nutrition. While most research cannot prove beyond a doubt that organic food is more nutritious it is much safer which may translate to a healthy body able to observe healthy nutrients. non organic food often contains hormones and pesticides. pesticides are poisonous By Nature they are designed to kill. pesticides can cause neurological problems cancer infertility nausea vomiting diarrhoea allergies and asthma and other skin problems.

Taste is subjective but you are more likely to get pressure flavour with organic. organic foods don't contain artificial preservatives so they sit on the shelf for less time and Consumers get a fresher better tasting product. prepared organic foods are really where the taste difference comes in. organic foods don't contain chemical fake flavours so the true taste of the food shines through. for example try a taste test between organic and non organic ketchup- the organic ketchup tastes like fresh tomatoes while the conventional taste like it was seasoned with fake tomato flavouring .

It is apparent that most consumers emphasized traditional quality aspects such as freshness and taste in their food choice. In fruits and vegetables for example freshness is generally the important Criterion to look for .Sensory analysis becomes primary for consumers in determining their choice followed by their Awareness of invisible qualities such as microbial and toxicological safety and nutritional value. The test will continue to become a primary consideration in consumer food choice especially after the experience of consuming the food.

Organic food usually focuses on these values presenting the product as environmentally friendly, healthy and as a means of bucking the system that is independent thought and action. For example, many organic food companies based their products' images on environmental impact and local origin. by advertising that food as environmentally safe and local and presenting the competition as potentially dangerous and part of the corporate agenda this organic food producers attract those who identify with an environmental ISM and alternative lifestyle . .

A growing interest in organic food has promoted going against conventional food because human health, food safety and environmental concern along with other sensory attributes such as nutritive value, taste freshness and appearance .Consumer perception about organic food are highly subjective. it is also worth noticing that such perceptions may or may not be there in actual behaviour in purchasing. the good quality of organic food at reasonable prices Mein not only attracts more potential bhaiya but also does justice to our environment as the pesticide application is minimal.
