1) It lies on the outer surface of thylakoid membrane.

2) Photolysis of water is not involved.

3) Its reaction centre is P700.

4) It is rich in chlorophyll A than chlorophyll B.

5) It receives electron from photosystem II.

6) It can participate in both cyclic and non-cyclic photophosphorylation.

7) Its major function is NADPH synthesis.

8)Pigments absorb longer wavelength of light.(> 680 nm)
