Answer #1

Ans9)Statement IV is correct.

Explaination:

Cellular division or nuclear division occurs through the process of binary fission in bacteria that is similar to Mitosis but not exactly the mitosis.

Membrane bound cell organelles absent in prokaryotic cell so none of the internal components of the prokaryotic cell are bound by bilayer membranes.

Golgi complexes are absent in the prokaryotic cell.

Structural rigidity of the prokaryotic cell is maintained by peptidoglycan cell wall constituents.

Ans10) are folds on the cytoplasmic membrane into the cytoplasm.

Explaination:

Mesosome is the inward folding of plasma membrane. Due to formation of Mesosome surface area increases. There are two types of mesosome :-

  • Central mesosome that provide a site for attachment of bacterial DNA and help in in binary fission and DNA replication.
  • Peripheral mesosome: In peripheral mesosomes majority of biochemical reaction take place. Functional it is similar to the mitochondria of eukaryotes as oxidative enzymes are found in them so they help in cellular respiration.

Ans11)Slime layer

Explaination: A typical prokaryotic cell contain 70s ribosome, storage granules, double stranded,  circular and small DNA,mesosomes.

In some bacteria capsule is present in place of slime layer.

Ans4)b)micro meter

Explaination: basic unit of bacterial measurement is the micrometre that is 1 millionth of metre(10^-6m).
