Introduction:

Telemedicine is a medical concept of providing medical treatment and care to the patients by the usage of internet facilities where the health care experts provide with necessary instructions and treatment details through their smartphone or any other devices like computers etc to the respective patients who are in need of uncomplicated medical help.

My opinion:

Yes, I do think that there are still many people or even an entire society who are unaware of the concept of telemedicine. This kind of unawareness about this topic usually happens around in remote locations or villages where technological and digital literacy is still too low. People there still think that they need to book a taxi and travel to consult a doctor situated far away from treating a simple health issue. It is true that every health problem cannot be solved through an online platform, but this telemedicine concept is really useful for the people who are in remote locations and cant access a travel option suddenly to treat their medical issue. Other categories of people who are benefited from this idea are the people who are bed driven and old aged people. They can access all the details regarding their illness and treatment through online without even getting up from their bed. Telemedicine is also very much relevant during the current period of pandemic where people are hesitating to visit the hospital centers.

The awareness about the telemedicine can be given by educating the people in their own native language by giving notices, videos, educational sessions about the digital advantages and usage of telemedicine. Along with the provision of knowledge regarding telemedicine, the leaders must also make ensure that the people have the devices in their hands to use this concept of telemedicine.
