In the worst case performance analysis, the throughput of the line is independent from the WIP in the line because in a worst case scenario, the WIP is kept constant. Basically in a worst case performance situation, we consider that the jobs are transported in the system in sequential manner, through pallets. Once a job gets finished, it gets off from the pallet and then the pallet returns to the start position to carry the next in line job. This way, there is no variation in the WIP and it remains constant. Throughput is also running parallelly and hence is not dependent on the WIP.
