Which method do you think would be the most accurate in determining original concentration of cells in a culture? Why do you think that one is the most accurate method?
plate count method?
standard curve?
Standard curve method is better than plate count method. This is because the former gives the total number of cell count in a sample whereas the latter tells us only about the viable cells.
Standard curve is cell counting method based on the absorbance of sample.
Plate count method is based upon the number of CFU.

please help with ALL questions thank you 1. Using excel, plot your standard curve based on Table 9-1 and calculate the line of best fit. Put concentration in the x column and OD in the y to solve for the concentrations of your unknown in Table 9-3. Report the slope and the y-intercept below. (1 mark) Slope (m) = v-intercept(b) = 2. Can this standard curve for yeast cells be used for cali cells (why/ why not?) (2 marks) 3....
please type up the answers. Conclusions. Questions for further thought and comprehension: 1. What did you determine to be the concentration of the original bacterial culture? Do you think your results are accurate? Explain why or why not. 2. Did you have a countable number of colonies on more than one of your plates? Assume you had two plates that had countable numbers of colonies, one with 124 colonies (and a dilution factor of 1/1.000) and one with 11 colonies...
According to methods of sequencing a polypeptide, which one do you think more accurate in determining the composition and location of amino acids within a polypeptide chain. You should support your answer with a reason why you chose it over the other two methods.
I counted 25 colonies and I think that it is within an accurate range. I feel like it is a selective plate because the organism appears to be isolation. 2. You received a mixed culture and know that contains a specific blue/black forming bacterial colony. You decided to plate 0.1ml of the original culture on a specific plate that only allows for the growth of that particular microbe. You got the following plate. A Is this an example of a...

Which method (Variable or Absorption) do you think provides the most accurate net income? Please include a discussion of the differences between the two costing methods as a part of your explanation. Please be sure to validate your opinions and ideas with citations and references in APA format.

You have performed a serial dilution of a sample with an unknown concentration of microorganisms. You counted 55 CFU on a countable plate inoculated with 0.1 mL of a 10-3 dilution. What was the population density of the original sample per milliliter? Many of the quantitative methods discussed are popular because they enable the microbiology researcher to selectively count live cells only. Why do you think this might be an important or desirable feature in a medical or environmental research...
You constructed your standard curve using calculated absorbance at 600 nm. Would it be accurate to use your standard curve to determine the concentration of cells in LB media based on an absorbance reading at 500 nm? Why or why not?
