Answer #1

Answer: False

Explanation:

Purdy citis three reasons to support her argument that it is unethical for an Huntington's disease affected parent to become pregnant without the abortion if the fetus positive;

  • It is our responsibilities to provide a healthy life for a child.
  • No harm comes from preventing the life of a possible child.
  • the parental rights of parents should not preside over the child's natural chance of a successful life.

The concept of Purdy is very simple and give idea is that if you are affected with Huntington's disease then there is 50% chance of producing affected child. If you don't believe in abortion then trying to become pregnant is normally unethical because because you have a very high chance of passing the condition on to the kid. Wheather you believe in abortion you should try pregnancy and get parental screening afterwards. If the child is Huntington's disease positive you have an abortion because you have a moral obligation to try not to bring infected babies into the world and if the clihd with negative Huntington's disease you can have your child.

    Write a reply to this response in three to five sentences. After reading both Marquis and Thomson's views, I find Thomson's argument to be stronger. If Marquis is correct about his view on why killing a fetus is wrong, then that is important. Just because it is important, doesn't mean it outweighs another important view. According to Marquis, the fetus had so much potential, and by killing it, it would strip away all of the possibilities their life would bring....
