Answer #1

ANSWER - These are the following things to observe when we are approaching a substation.   1- Maintenance standards & availability of the right equipments - Most of the Electrical equipments in substations are operating for 24 hours a day so maintenance of the equipments are very important for continuous distribution. So by observing the heath of equipments we can assume the standard of the substation. Certain equipments are used for specific work so by observing availability of equipment at their right place will also show the standard of the substation.

2- Safety standards for employees & workers - It is the most important thing in substations to assure the safety for their employees. So proper safety measures and kits tells you lots about the substation standard.

3- Protection for the Equipments - Because of the overload, short circuit & Natural disaster equipments can be damage, so proper circuit breaker, relays, lighting arrester & other protection equipments should be placed.

4- Working nature of the employees - Its sounds quite strange but in most of the substations which are often in remote area working nature of the employees are not so professional. Sometimes they are not present in substation for days and lower employees running the substation.

5- Location of the substation - Proper location of the substation shows about the substation. It should not be constructed in highly urban area nor in highly remote areas.
