steps :-

copy the data in minitab and name the column x 1596055622603_blob.png stat 1596055622467_blob.png basic statistics 1596055622510_blob.png 1-sample T 1596055622497_blob.png select one or more samples, each in a column from the drop down menu 1596055622495_blob.png in the blank box below select x 1596055622668_blob.pngtick perform hypothesized test 1596055622598_blob.pngin hypothesized mean type 601596055622520_blob.pngoptions 1596055622519_blob.png in confidence level type 99 1596055622528_blob.png select alternative hypothesis as mean \neq hypothesized mean 1596055622496_blob.pngok1596055622676_blob.pngok.

hypothesis:-

H_{0}:\mu=60 [ claim ]

H_{1}:\mu\neq60

the test statistic (t) = 0.44

the p value = 0.665

decision:-

Fail to reject H0. There is sufficient evidence to conclude that the original claim that the mean of the population of estimates is 60 seconds is correct.It appears that as a group the students are reasonably good at estimating one minute.
