What stood out to you while conducting preliminary research for your own research topic?
Ans: The thing that stood out for me while conducting preliminary research for my research topic was to determine what kind of sources are best for my research
In the initial stages of preliminary research, things are quite easier to work in a flow, whether it is to make decision on the topic, or whether it be to narrow the search parameters to make more effeciency, or to create questions based on your research in order to identify what was missed and what can be improvised. But when it comes to identify and analyze which sources can best fit for the research, it becomes difficult for me to decide.
Here, while doing so, one has to keep several things in mind i.e. while deciding which source would be best, one has to dig deeper and research on that particular source in order to verify and analyze if it will be helpful for our research purpose, because if we rely on a deficient source, then it leads to wastage of time and money.
Another problem which usually happens while selecting a specific source is, we ended up choosing a best suitable source, but after few days, another source gets published which is far way better that the previous one. So one must keep updating as well as researching in the entire process of preliminary research in order to make the research more and more effective and effecient.
Hence, analysis and selecting a best suitable source for the preliminary research is what stood out for me.
