Answer #1

Steps in excel:

  1. Input the data in three columns as given in the question.
  2. Next, click Data Analysis on the Data tab.
  3. From the popup you got , choose t-Test: Two-Sample Assuming Equal Variances. (as in the sample we are given to assume equal variances )
  4. Under Input, select the ranges for both A and B. (I have provided a picture below )
  5. In Hypothesized Mean Difference, enter 0.
  6. Give Alpha value of 0.05,
  7. Select the output range (anywhere except the places were you have written the data)
  8. Click OK.

OUTPUT:

t-Test: Two-Sample Assuming qual Variances Variable 1 Variable 2 Mean 100.9 109.2 Variance 97.87778 85.73333 Observati 10 10

Test statistic value = -1.94

Here p-value for two tailed test is 0.0686

p-value> alpha (0.05)

Hence we fail to reject H0 at level alpha (0.05)

Hence we would not reject H0
