ANS- Women did sewing, nursing, they joined certain unions. They were trained as school teachers, librarians, but they were competing with men and stitched clothes, canned fruits, canned vegetables, baked breads to save money. They were working in service industries, but later they needed to work to save money as men were the breadwinners and they lost their jobs at that time. They needed to support themselves as to feed themselves.
