The map distance is calculated by dividing the number of recombinants from the total number of individual offsprings produced from the cross.

Number of recombinants from the cross = 2

Number of offsprings from the cross = 2+2 = 4

Hence map distance = 2/4

Map distance = 0.5 Morgans = 50 map units.
