Answer #1

1.- Remember that any information that links organelles to current bacteria is going to be evidence, and information against organelle independence does not support the thoery.

The table ends up looking like this:

Does not support endosymbiont theory Evidence for the endosymbiont theory Mitochondrial RNA genes are most similar to the RNA

2.- The answer is the third option: Some proteins must be imported into organelles for their function

3.- The answer is the last option: Some proteins found in mitochondria are imported from cytosol. That is the relation between nucleus and mitochondria, many proteins are provided by the nuclear genome into the mitochondria.

The second option seems right but it is not true, mitochondria requires functions from the nucleus to be able to live.

Due to gene transfer between the organelles and the nucleus, Multiple Choice a chloroplast from one plant species can be transferred to any other plant species. organelle genomes experience lower rates of mutation than they would if gene transfer did not occur. some proteins must be imported into organelles for their function mitochondria and chloroplasts have genes that allow them to live independently. mitochondrial genomes in all species have the same genes. Classify the statements below as to whether they describe mitochondria, chloroplasts, or both. Cannot live independently because they require some proteins and RNAS encoded by nuclear genes. In some species, some codons specify a different amino acid than is specified in the universal genetic code. Translation is inhibited by chemicals known to inhibit bacterial translation, such as chloramphenicol Carry genes for some of the enzymes of photosynthetic electron transport. rRNA gene sequences are most similar to cyanobacteria. PLEASE SUMMARIZE THE 4 (numbered 1-4) ARTICLES TO 4 SENTENCES FOR EACH NUMBER. THANKS. 1. Medications have to be safe for mothers-to-be and for their unborn children. Before the authorities will approve a new drug, it must be tested in animal trials on pregnant rodents and, as a rule, pregnant rabbits. Scientists in the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich in Basel have now developed a test that allows them to examine a drug's embryotoxicity in cell...
