I need help with my biostatistics homework, if you could post what formula you used I’d really appreciate it!

2. Look up the following t or P values: Format is ta[df] One-tailed critical value for t .01[14] - Answer: Two-tailed (right) critical value for t .05[17] - Answer: If ts=2.377 with 22 df, what is P for a 2-tailed hypothesis? Answer: If ts = 9.667 with 9 df, what is P for a 1-tailed hypothesis? Answer:

We can easily find the value of above probability using MS-EXCEL

a) if we have probability, degree of freedom the to find t-value use-...……. =tinv(probability,deg_freedom)

but we have to keep focus on as it will give the value for two tailed

b) to calculate probability if we have t value and degree of freedom...…...=tdist(x,deg_freedom,tail)

but we have to provide tail value of both side

1) t.01[14] =2.624

2)t.05[17]=2.110

3)ts=2.377 df=22 then p-value=0.027

4)ts=9.667 df=9 then p-value=0.000

=tiny TINV(probability, deg_freedom)

=tdist TDIST(x, deg_freedom, tails)
