The dural venous sinuses are formed by the three meningeal layers,

2). Middle arachnoid mater

3). The inner pia mater

The two layers of dura mater are,

· Periosteal layer

· Meningeal layer

The periosteal layer is the inner layer of the cranial bones (periosteum), whereas the meningeal layer is the layer continuous with the dura mater.

The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is secreted by the choroid plexuses (a network of blood vessels), present in the roof of the lateral ventricles of the brain.

Cerebrospinal fluid is a clear, colourless alkaline fluid present in subarachnoid space, ventricles of the brain and central canal of the spinal cord. The composition of CSF is much like similar to plasma, but its protein concentration is much less than the plasma. In contrast to the blood, it does not contain the blood cells, but contain a few lymphocytes.
