1. What is the evidence against Justine?

The strongest evidence against Justine was William's locket that was found in her possession. She also had no alibi to corroborate her whereabouts on the day and at the time of the murder. Victor knew she was innocent, but he was afraid of telling the truth because it involved exposing the monster that he created.

3. Why does Justine confess to a crime she hadn’t committed?

Justine confesses because she is afraid of being damned to hell as a murderess. As a Catholic, it is important to be absolved of all sins before dying, and in order to do this, she had to admit to the sin even though she did not commit it.

4. The theme that people should take responsibility for their actions and then face the consequences emerges. What is you opinion?

I also agree with the given statement. In my opinion people should take responsibility for their actions and crimes because they have done wrong or sin initially and by accepting their responsibility they can save an innocent life from court's trial and punishment.
