A loop of diameter 16 cm is placed in a uniform electric field of magnitude 4.9 A loop of diameter 16 cm is placed in a 102 N/C.

(a) What is the electric flux through the loop when the electric field is perpendicular to the plane of the loop?
N?m2/C

(b) What is the electric flux through the loop when the electric field is 45? from the plane of the loop?

Answer #1

Electric flux through any surface is equal to dot product of electric field and area vector and can be calculated as- Φ E.AS

Answer #2

Electric flux = EA cos(theta)

where E= electric field , A=cross-sectional area, theta is angle

What is the electric flux through the loop when the electric field is parallel to the plane of the loop

here theta is 90 degree so cos(theta) is zero. Electric flux is zero in this case.

What is the electric flux through the loop when the electric field is 45
