Do rate the answer if you find it satisfactory

..

A bill of lading is a legal document issued by a carrier to a shipper that details the destination of the goods being carried and type, quantity of good. A bill of lading is a document of title, a receipt for shipped goods, and a contract between a carrier and shipper.

So Bill of lading serves three main purposes:

  1. it is an acknowledgement that the goods have been loaded
  2. it contains or evidences the terms of the contract of carriage
  3. it serves as a document of title to the good

So bill of lading does not serves in valuation for custom purposes.
