No this is not a true estimate of population size of pythons in south florida.

This is because the graph only shows the Number of python captured over time but population size is the actual number of indivuals in a population.Their may be lot of more pythons which were not captured but they exist and they come under the population.Therefore this does not estimate population size and population size is larger then this.

We can safely conclude that the population of pythons has been rising since 2002 as lot of snakes have been captured after that.This does not mean that we can conclude that python population dropped from 2009 till 2012.

To make this a more accurate indiacator we can find the population density of the python captured over time.
