Both of these compounds are same because

1) The functional group CH3 is attached to the central carbon atom by solid bond line which means it is coming out of the plane of central C atom.

2) Similarly functional group H in both compounds are attached by dashed line which means the H atom is going into the plane of central C atom.

3) Functional groups CH3O and CO2H lie in the same plane as the central C atom in both the compounds.

So, both are same compounds.
