Conditions for active and repressed transcription:

• The transcription factor may be active or repressed based on the environemntal conditions that prevail.
• When a DNA is bound to the repressor then it inhibits the transcription.
• When the DNA binding sites is bound to the activator then it increases the transcription of operon.
