In many countries and nationalities in the world people fast on a particular day of the week. Sometimes this fast is due to religious reasons at other times it is for health reasons. I have always found this a very strange tradition. Of late however, I am revising my view. Fasting helps clean your entire digestive tract. It rids the body of impurities. It gives all your major organs like heart,liver, kidneys and stomach a rest. It improves the functioning of your metabolism. Moreover it is a strategy to keep your weight in check.
