The term ‘Western Culture’ is a term used to essentially describe the culture in European continent from the time of the Greco-Roman period. This was further extended to other countries marked by European culture due to migration or strong affiliation with the European values like America and Australia.
A new cultural movement of the Contemporary Era could be the anti -colonial movement from the 1930s by the colonial states against the Western domination. The anti-colonial movement seen across the world lead to the end of the imperialism and reclaiming of freedom against oppression in all sense- cultural, economic, political , social and environmental. It had a great impact on the Western Culture as it showed to them that the world is to be shared by all rather than being conquered and pillaged for the gains of the limited few.
