ANS 3) In membrane resistance when the ions circulate through the membrane via other open channels
Consequently, neurons with higher membrane resistance that is fewer open channels have longer length constants
Axial resistance is the inner resistance to go with the flow , the bigger the diameter of the structure, there is more chance for the ions to drift.Therefore, neurons with decrease axial resistance that is larger diameter have longer length

a) A 9 fold decrease in Ra :

There will be an increase in length constant of a neuron \lambda = \sqrt{} K a

thus, the length of neuron will be 9 times more

b) A 25 fold increase in Rm:

There will be a decrease in length constant of a neuron by 25 times.

c) The combined effect will result in no change in length constant of a neuron
