answer-

1- the most dangerous industries from a fire hazard standpoint are those which involves activities which are prone to fire accidents. these industries are-

  • nuclear industry which involves radio active substances which can cause fire accidents.
  • chemical industries which handles activities which involves handling of Flammable liquids and gasses.
  • electrical & electricity industry involves fire accidents if not handles properly/
  • other some average industries are food & restaurant industry involves cooking,fire work industry etc.

the best way to prevent from fire hazards are to take precautions but if such condition arises then following are some best ways to deal with fires-

  • use of fire extinguisher in the industry.
  • water sprinklers in the fire prone areas of the industry
  • use of sand to cover the small fires
  • use of blankets to deal with fire if it catches a person.

(ii)Explain the characteristics of fire extinguishing systems.

fire extinguishing systems are very important safety & security tools at all workplaces even they are not prone to fire hazards because they helped in reducing the fire from the workplace.these systems have following characterstics-

  • fire extinguishing systems helps in preventing from all kinds of fire like freely burning, combustible solid materials such as wood or paper, flammable liquid or gas, energized electrical fire,metallic fire, cooking fires etc.
  • fire extinguishing systems are easy to use & implement in the workplace.
  • fire extinguishing systems can be automatically start if they detected any kind of smoke as safety measures.
  • fire extinguishing systems alarms the people in the workplace so that they can get to safety.

(iii)What are the possible effects of fire hazards on personnel, materials and resources and environment?

possible effects of fire hazards-

on personnel-

  • if any person goes through a fire hazards it can cause physical damage as well as emotional trauma which can set a fear of fire in the mind of the personnel.
  • fire hazards can ruin the body with burn marks caused by the fire hazards.
  • the ultimate effect would be death of the personnel if person has severe fire burns on their body.

on materials & resources-

  • materials would be damages or destroyed partially or completely
  • materials can cause more damages cause of fire hazards like oil, electric items, clothes etc with contact with fire can be more destructive.

on environment-

  • increase the amount of poisonous gases which can cause environmental damage like depeletion in ozone layer.
  • damage to natural resources like forests, crops, infrastructure etc.
