What is selective precipitation? What are the conditions under which selective precipitation may occur?
Separation of ions in an aqueous solution by using a reagent
that forms a precipitate with one of the ions is called selective
precipitiation.f a chemical solution is a mixture of two salts,
containing two different cations, but same anions, for example,
Iron (ii) and silver.
When another outside compound like sodium chloride is added to
this, one of the ions, silver ions, comes out of the solution in
the form of a white precipitate, leaving behind iron and sodium
ions. This is called as selective precipitation, where using
another compound, a precipitating agent, one ion can be removed
from the mixture.
When we need to precipitate certain ion from a solution, then we use selective precipitation. An reagent is introduced in a solution so that the ion which needs to be removed forms precipitate with ions of reagent and gets removed.
What is selective precipitation? What are the conditions under which selective precipitation may occur?
1. Under second-order conditions (strong base/nucleophile), SN2 and E2 reactions may occur simultaneously and compete with each other. Show what products might be expected from the reaction of 2-bromo-3-methylbutane (a moderately hindered 2∘ alkyl halide) with sodium ethoxide. 2.Under second-order conditions (strong base/nucleophile), SN2 and E2 reactions may occur simultaneously and compete with each other. Explain the conditions under which monetary policy may be effective in an open economy
Hemiacetal formation occurs under acidic, basic, and neutral conditions. Under what set of conditions will acetal formation not occur?
why do we select wavelength of 280nm during selective precipitation of egg albumin ?
What is fermentation? Under what conditions does it occur? What is its purpose? Describe the major differences between anaerobic and aerobic respiration in terms of reactions, products, and energy yield. Yeast is capable of both aerobic and anaerobic respiration, but frequently performs anaerobic respiration regardless of the oxygen content of its environment. What advantage might this provide the yeast?
