Mass of sugar consumed per year = Mass consumed per day * days per year = 39 * 365 = 14235 g = 14235 / 453.6

= 31.38 pounds

b. Calories consumed per year = mass of sugar consumed * cal per gram of sugar = 14235 * 4 = 56940 cal

c.Weight gained = number of calories per year / number of calories needed to gain per pound = 56940 / 3500 = 16.27 pounds
