This figure shows the trends in the present discounted Value of high school and college earnings net of tuition. The first figure shows the present discounted value for men and the second figure shows the present discounted value for women.

The blue line in both the figures show the PDV in schools and the red line shows the PDV in colleges.

The constant dollars have been higher for men starting from 800000 whereas for the females it has been in between 400000 to 600000 in the high school. For women PDV has been quite consistent and increasing whereas for men it hasn't affected much and remained near 800000.

PDV for men in college has also been higher than women. It increased till the 1975 and then reduced with variations till the 2000 and increased afterwards. For women it started at around 600000 and has been increasing from there on reaching 1000000 around 2005.
