Discussion:
Determine the synchronous reactance by neglecting the armature resistance ?
How does the phase voltage behave in case of ohms load, inductive load and capacitive load of synchronous generator?
How can be control the terminal voltage to the rated voltage of synchronous generator?
1. Question is not clear. But i assume the question is if we can neglect the armature resistance. The answer is yes it is a valid approximation as armature resistance is very small compared to armature reactance.
2. Phase voltage leads the terminal voltage in both ohms load and inductive load. In case of capacitive load it cab either lead or lag.
3 Voltage control can be done by controlling the reactive power of synchronous generator. This in turn can be controlled by controlling the excitation of the machine.
