Answer #1

Substances that can undergo more than on ionisation are called polyprotic acids. Here blank is polyprotic.

Eg H2SO4

It ionises into ( HSO4- and H+). This is it's first dissociation. This HSO4- formed can undergo further dissociation to form SO42- and H+

Second dissociation is very slow than the first because in the 2nd dissociation , a positive ion has to be lost from the negative species ie HSO4- and hence dissociation constant ka2 will be very less than ka1(dissociation constant for first ionisation ).

Similarly when there are three protons present. The acid is called as polyprotic acids etc.
