State 8 effects that would happen when a sensory neuron recieves a stimulus that brings it to threshold.
Any stimulus is a form of energy, so when some energy applied in the form of stimuli, this causes change in membrane potentials (enough to reach threshold potentail difference) of neurons innervating that region, and causes depolarisation, which results in impulse generation and transmission.
Depend upon the severity of stimuli, the duration of impulse varies. These senses are received by sensory receptors. These receptors transduce the stimuli and send signals to the CNS. All the sensory pathways involves four basic functions namely, sensory reception and transduction, transmission, perception, amplification.

Based on your excellent understanding and extensive knowledge of chemical synaptic transmission, EXPLAIN what would happen in response in each hypothetical situation below….Assume you have an experimental set-up with two neurons connected via a chemical synapse – Neuron A is presynaptic and Neuron B is postsynaptic. Also assume that there is a stimulating electrode in Neuron A that brings it to threshold and produces an EPSP in Neuron B. In your answers, include all relevant events between this stimulus and...
Question 8 Damage to the ventral root would have which of the following effects? What would happen to a neuron if it were exposed to tetrodotoxin? 1. Be specific regarding tetrodotoxin’s effect on the structures present in the membrane of this cell. 2. Considering your answer above, what effect would that have on the neuron’s ability to communicate
What would happen to the neuron if the Na- K ATPase activity was completely inhibited? O a. The resting potential wouldn't be restored after the action potential Ob. Repolarization of the membrane wouldn't appear. c. The resting potential would be restored too fast after the action potential. Od. The action potential couldn't be generated.
