CFU per mL = # colonies × dilution factor / volume plated = # colonies / (dilution × volume plated)

# colonies = 79 + 64 / 2 = 71.5

Dilution factor = 10^4

Volume plated = 1 mL

CFU per mL = (71.5 × 10^4) / 1 = 7.15 × 10^5 = 715000

The CFU per mL is more than 500,000. So, it will be infectious.
