What is cooperative transition? Does the concept of "cooperativity" help explain the shape of DNA melting curves? What are the forces that stabilize the formation of DNA hairpins and what do they have to do with cooperativity?
Thank you!
Cooperative transition takes place from B-form DNA to overstretced form S-form DNA. In this procedure, the affinity of the binding sites for a ligand is apparently increased, positive cooperativity, or decreased, negative cooperativity, upon the binding of a ligand to a binding site. DNA go through phase transitions such as melting, unfolding, or unwinding, known as subunit cooperativity. DNA supercoiling can have a strong impact on gene expression as in the negative superhelix density can stabilize cruciform formation.

Week 11- Concept Questions Explain what type of forces, Intermolecular or Intramolecular are involved in the following processes. How do you know? How is this related to chemical vs physical changes? Forces overcome when ice melts Forces overcome when gaseous water is converted into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas Forces that prevent ice cubes from taking on the shape of their container Forces overcome when liquid water is vaporized

please answer all 3 i really need help with these. thank you!!
10. For a given reduced/oxidized molecular pair (X /X), a negative reducing potential suggests that the x has a higher affinity for the electrons than x does X has a higher affinity for electrons than H2 does. X has a lower affinity for the electrons than x does X has a lower affinity for electrons than H2 does.

Congratulations! You have just started working in a brand spanking new biochemistry lab with some very fancy equipment to accurately measure enzyme activities. There is only one problem...You work for an absent minded Investigator who cannot keep track of his inhibitors. He has given you a series of inhibitors to certain enzymatic activity and asked you to sort through them. He would like to know a) What type of inhibitor is each compound (Competitive, non-competitive, uncompetitive...
Please help with this
biochemistry question. the first half of the question was whether
or not cyanide would affect oxygen consumption in cells. How would
cyanide affect ATP? Wouldn't it decrease ATP produced?
What do you predict will happen with ATP production in the long run? ATP will stop being produced. ATP will continue to be produced.
Can you please help me make a concept map that resembles the
format of the concept map in the second photo, but contains the
terms in the first photo. Thank you!
