Question

Project Name: The keyword frequency vector (KFV). System Description: The keyword frequency vector (KFV) of a text file is a

Our design problem is to design the architecture of such a system. The designer proposed the 2 following solutions. And then, you will be required to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed designs based on the quality attributes

Design 1: In this design, the computation is decomposed into a number of tasks as follows. Each task is procedure or function

Answer #1

The design quality attributes are as follows:-

Correctness, Reliability, Adequacy, Learnability, Robustness, Maintainability, Readability, Extensibility, Testability, Efficiency, Portability

Whichever design adheres more to these principles will be a better design

So let us look at it design by design

#Design 1

This design uses a mater slave architecture where the master control coordinates over all the elemnts occuring in the text

Hence better reliabilty and robustness as all the things are things are centralized and any faults will be communicated to all segments which can then accordingly balance the load.

However in high traffic the control system will be in a bottleneck as it has to oversee all the differnet aspects and then managing, leading to potential delays in the system. Also extensions are not easy to integrate as a module has to be first created to accomodate that first in the control system.

#Design 2

The design uses a streamline architecture as the output of one segment is the input of the corresponding segment.

It has better readibility and extensibility as the stream is defined and new segments can be very easily introduced at the end of the pipeline.

Also it does dip performance during high traffic as it is continuously streaming to the next segment and not creating any buffers in between.

Hence considering these points design 2 is a better alternative than design 1.

Implement the histogram function to complete the desired program. You must use dynamically allocated arrays for this purpose. For your initial implementation, use ordered insertion to keep the words in order and ordered sequential search when looking for words. Note that the array utility functions from the lecture notes are available to you as art of the provided code. please write a C++ code Problem A: Word Shadow Source file: shadow.cpp f or java, or.cj Input file: shadow.in in reality, when we read an English word we normally do not read every single letter of that word but rather the word's "shadow" recalls its pronunciation and meaning from our brain. The word's shadow consists of the same number of letters that compose the actual word with first and last letters (of the word) in their original positions while the...

The goal of this homework is to write a small database system for an Animal Shelter. This is a no-kill shelter like the one just west of the Addition Airport. You will accept animal “donations” to the shelter, but mostly only dogs and cats. (But yes, there may be the occasional hamster or other nondog, non-cat animal donation.) At present, all we need to do is write the skeleton of a database that will track all the animals in the...

You will need to think about problem solving. There are several multi-step activities. Design, compile and run a single Java program, StringEx.java, to accomplish all of the following tasks. Add one part at a time and test before trying the next one. The program can just include a main method, or it is neater to split things into separate methods (all static void, with names like showLength, sentenceType, lastFirst1, lastFirst), and have main call all the ones you have written...
