Question

1. A marble gun shoots marbles of diameter d. When it is positioned such that the center of its barrel is a height h above the floor and its barrel is parallel to the floor, a marble fired from the gun hits the floor a distance D from the end of the barrel. You rotate the gun such that the end of the barrel is still h above the floor, but now the barrel makes an angle θ with the parallel. what angle θ will allow you to just graze the ceiling at height H above the floor? (diagram not to scale)

Two children are trying to shoot a marble of mass m into a small box using a spring-loaded gun that is fixed on a table and shoots horizontally from the edge of the table. (Figure 1)The edge of the table is a height H above the top of the box (the height of which is negligibly small), and the center of the box is a distance d from the edge of the table. The spring has a spring constant k....

    1. Solve the following problem on a clean sheet of paper. A cannon shoots a cannonball from the ground level (ignore the height of the cannon) towards a cliff of height h 170 m. The cannonball is launched with an initial velocity of 110 m/s at an angle of 64° above the horizontal. Neglect air resistance. Assume the cannonball hits the cliff as it descends (on its way down) exactly at the edge, as shown. Landing point a. Deternine the...

THE EXPERIMENT The speed "." of a ball as it leaves the spring gun will be measured by projecting the ball horizontally (0-0) from a table top at a distance H above the floor. The gun is then elevated at a known angle 8. The position of the target is calculated using the measured value of v. calculated time of flight, and the equations of motion. A successful prediction with the projectile hitting the target means that the following concepts...
