1. Ans: Flower producing plants called as angiosperms plants and they look very attractive and beautiful. The reproduction in plants occurs in flowers because it consists of the reproductive system. The anther (male reproductive system) and stigma or gynoecium (female reproductive system) are seen within the flowers. Pollen grains is the male gametophytes and embryo sac which contain ovum is the female gametophyte. The function of male gametophyte is the production of sperm cells and female gametophyte is eggs. Later on after pollination, the sperm cells and egg cell fused together to form a zygote, and this process known as fertilization.

Gymnosperm is the green leafy sporophyte which contains both male and female gametophyte separately. Male cone is smaller than the female cone. They depend upon the wind for the pollination. The male gametophyte contains microsporophylls which produce pollen. In the female gametophyte, the mother megaspore cell divided by meiosis and produce 4 haploid daughter megaspore in which one megaspore divide to form female gametophyte. In gymnosperm, the ovary is absent so the double fertilization not occurs. The male and female gametophyte is present in a different cone rather than the flowers and pollination is take place through the wind. Female cone located upper than the male cone. eg. pine.
