Help me write a paper that discusses succinctly a model for the process of managing organizational change. Highlight factors you consider to be necessary for successful application of the model. What elements of leadership are required to support this model if the change process is to be managed successfully.What impediments to a successful outcome might exist?

Organizational Change refers to a process where some activities/operations/decision making patterns/structure or anything significant changes for long run in strategic manner and has strategic and long run implications.

As similar to comprehends changes in alignment of changes in environment it is very important to manage change in the organization in effective and efficeint manner so that changes bear fruitful results and various hurdles to change like resistance to change become overcome.

Change managemnet process involves a number of steps that are followed to handle change. There are number of models being presented in literature, lets discuss an important one known as Prosci's 3-Phase model.

The model consists three major phases, each including number of activities to perform and have definite aims to acheive. These phases are as follows:

1) Phase 1: Preparing for Change - This phase aims to identify anticipated points of resistance and special tactics based on readiness assessments. To achive this objective the activities include are defining change management stratgy, making up and preparing change management team that may consists internal and external actors, assessing organization's readiness to change through tools like culture and history assessment, employee assessment etc.

2) Phase 2: Managing Change - Aims preparing and implementing changeand resistance managemnet plan. This include bringing the acctual change in the organization and simultanoeusly also implementing resistance managemnet plan developed on basis of inputs provided in phase 1 such as thorugh assessment of resistance. Training development is an integral part of this phase.

3) Phase 3: Reinforcing Change - It aims at having a controlled managemnet so that the change implemented in phase 2 does not fail and gives good results. INcude activities like collecting feeedback from employees and other actors on change, audit compliance, diagnoss and address gaps between what was planned in phase 1 and what was delivered in phase 2, and look for pockets for resistance so that it may be removed further.

At each stage proactive skills of leadership are required to be enforced. In phase 1 particularly the skills related need assessmnet, analyzing the value system, cognitive skills are required. In Phase 2 skills of leadership like motivating, listening and effective communication, developing sense of risk adaption in employees, charismatic skills etc are required to influence employees. In phase 3 the skills pertaining to addressing and measuring gaps and ability to rework on issues are most imporatnt of leaders.

As alreay discussed a number hurdles may become impediments to successful change management. MOstly the resistance from employees create problems. Lack of skills to handle change in another important problem while other problems include decrease in morale and motivation becaus eof change in structure and compensation etc.
