Answer #1

(1) Yes! According to me, regulations framed by the government have the power to control corruption in following manner:

  • Rules and regulations framed act as a check on the ones involved in corruption regularly.
  • Rules are set out which provides a framework to be followed, thus making everything legal and within the law, thus reducing the chances of corruption.
  • Government have made mandatory for companies and organizations to disclose their workings and financial statements, thus reducing the chances of employees involving in corruption.
  • Regulations are framed such that punishment to the corrupt individuals is given without nay skip.

(2) There are certain limitations on the part of the regulations in controlling corruption such as:

  • Extra strict regulations cannot be framed as this would lead to more urge to involve in corrupt activities.
  • The loopholes are created in the regulations that are framed very strictly, hence giving scope for corruptions.
  • The regulations can be framed to be followed by people, but it cannot impose people to abide by the rules. The ones with bad intention will always involve in corruption.
