2. The uprooted plant dies generally once you uproot it. The reason is that the plant was in contact with the nutrients present in the soil, with the help of it's root. The plant needs nutrients continuously. So if we uproot it then it's physiology will be interfered. Also, the root makes a system in the soil with the help of it's branches. If we uproot it and replant then it will take time establish the system again, and till then the plant would have die.

3. Dendrochronology is the study of wood and it's annual rings. The rings of a wood are formed every year. Rings formed in different weather and different climates have different appearances. So based upon these an old plant can be used to study the history of climate of the place.

The annual rings grown in the warmer or rainy years will be wider. The rings formed in the cold years will be thinner than those. So based upon this, the climate of a year can be studied.
