Answer #1

1. I had started to work part time for a firm a few years ago. During the inteview process I was clearly told that the firm worked night to morning shift and I said I was comfortable with it. After going there for a few days, I couldnt adjust to the timings and called them about it and stopped going.

I believe while there was nothing illegal about it, what I did was ethically wrong. I was clearly told about the timings beforehand and I had said I was OK with it. Even if I couldnt cope up, I couldve given them notice and worked for 15 more days- that wouldve helped them in getting a replacement and not hamper their work.

2. Its ethical as long as the company doesnt hire people below 18 (or whatever the legal and reasonable age is). The company should also make sure that not only it follows all the laws of that country, but also provides their employees with a safe and comfortable work environment.

Apart from that, I dont see any ethical problem with it as such since the company is moving production somewhere where costs are lower- a very standard and legal practice.
