Answer #1

Multiple sclerosis is a condition in which activated immune cells disrupt the outer covering (mylein) of neurons.

Involvement of immune system: The immune cells CD8+ T cells and CD20+ B cells produce an unknown soluble factor that creates a toxic environment which activates a population of macrophages like cells in the central nervous system known as microglia which causes demyelination of the neurons. Disruption of blood brain barrier allows the movement of lymphocytes resulting into demyelination.

Involvement of nervous system: The affected cells are neurons which are considered as unit of the nervous system. Demylenatiin of neurons results in a lot of symptoms.
