Answer: The cognitive process is maintained by the cerebral cortex of the brain. The middle and inferior temporal gyrus of the brain plays a important role in cognitive functions such as memory, language processing, visual perception. If there is any impairment in that region it leads to poor cognitive function. This is the connection between cerebral cortex and cognitive process.

The neurotransmitters such as seratonin and norepinephrine is responsible for sleep when this neurotransmitters level is low means it leads to sleep disorders.This is the connection between the neurotransmitters and the sleep disorders.
