Answer #1

Ans. Balanced reaction:       3 Ferrozine + 1 Fe2+ ------------> Na4Fe(ferrozine)3

The product Na4Fe(ferrozine)3 is a colored complex whose intensity is spectrophotometrically recorded.

Stoichiometry: 3 mol ferrozine complexes with 1 mol Fe2+.

It’s assumed that all forms of Fe are converted into Fe2+ during sample preparation.

Now,

Moles of ferrozine required = 3 x Moles of Fe2+

                                                = 3 x (3.6 x 10-7 mol)

                                                = 1.08 x 10-6 mol
