There is a two locus, two allele system where the ‘E’ locus codes for flower color and (EE) gives red flowers and (ee) gives white flowers and (E) is dominant. The second locus controls seed color and has two alleles, (YY) gives yellow seeds and (yy) gives green seeds and (Y) is dominant. Assuming these loci are on different chromosomes (that is, they are unlinked) what will be the genotype frequencies of the offspring be in a cross between EE Yy X Ee yy? Also know how to do this with linked loci

(a) 1/4 EEYy ; 1/4 EEyy ; 1/4 EeYy ; 1/4 Eeyy

(b) 1/2 EEYy ; 1/2 Eeyy (c) 1/2 EEyy ; 1/2 EeYy

please explain throughly and draw out.

You are interested in the inheritance of seed color (the Y-locus) and seed shape (the S-locus) in corn plants. At the seed color locus, the Y allele (yellow seeds) is dominant to the y-allele (white seeds). At the seed shape locus, the S allele (smooth seeds) is dominant to the s allele (rough seeds). You perform the following dihybrid cross between two corn plants, one of which has a yellow and smooth seeds (genotype: YySs), the other of which has...

Given: There is a two locus two allele system for a particular species of African antelope. One locus controls horn length and the two alleles are H and h. (HH) gives long horns, (Hh) gives short horns, and (hh) gives no horns. Only males can have horns. The second locus controls color pattern and has two alleles D and d. You are doing and experiment on inbreeding in Phlox plants with a single-locus polymorphism in flower color. WW genotypes have white flowers, PP genotypes have purple flowers, and WP genotypes have magenta flowers. You construct an artificial population in the greenhouse consisting of 50 white-flowered phenotypes and 50 purple-flowered phenotypes. You then cross all individuals randomly and grow out 100 F1 seeds. What are the genotype frequencies among the F1 offspring if you assume Hardy Weinberg equilibrium?

    8. You are studying an annual wildflower population. Flower color is either red or yellow and is controlled by a single locus with 2 alleles: R and y. Red is dominant to yellow, and both homozygous RR individuals and heterozygous individuals have red flowers, while yy individuals have yellow flowers. You have been studying this population for a long time and have seen fairly consistent allele frequencies for these two colors, with R=0.65 and y=0.35. Two years ago, a new...
