"Polar form needs to be in V=[dr/dt](er)+(r)[d theta/dt](e theta) as shown in the red pen writing. You did not do this for the question that is why you got is wrong.
Then for cartesian er=cos(theta)i+sin(theta)j and e(theta)=-sin(theta)i+cos(theta)j. Substitute these two question for er and e(theta) and multiply them by dr/dt and (r) d theta/dt. Add all the i and all the j and you will get your final answer as shown in the red pen writing"

Answer #1

Answer:)

We have been given that :

= 9 rad/s

re) = 1 + 0.1 cos

This means that :

dr at dr do do dt = = (-0.1 sin ). (9) = -0.9 sin

and do = (1 + 0.1 cose). 9 = 9+0.9 cos

Thus, we have, in general :

v= -0.9 sin lê+(9 +0.9 cos é

Specifically, when 209 = 0 , we get that :

v = -0.9 sin 50°ê, + (9 +0.9 cos 50°), = -0.6894ê, +9.5785em

In Cartesian coordinates, we have :

ê= cos +sin oj ég = – sin fî + cos oj

Thus, we have :

v= -0.6894(cos 50°i + sin 50°j) +9.5785( - sin 50i + cos 50°)

Which comes out to be :

v= -7.7807î + 5.6288;
