Should parents censor textbooks and other literature for children in schools?

I agree that teachers make decisions on their personal morals, which are often exclusive, and that is not fair. Nothing harmful should be allowed, but some think a book that addresses an issue, such as a kindergartener having two mommies, is harmful and should NEVER be allowed. The parents /parent body of the school should review and censor what is shared, but I think ALL teacher candidates need to be aware of the balance in doing so in class. Phobias increase ignorance. And I think our world has more than enough intolerance and phobias than we need. I also believe everything should be within context. I feel that teacher candidates need to know their audience (students/families/administrators/community). The quality and accuracy of the books, the ages and sensitivities of the children, the quality and sensitivity and training of teachers" should be monitored by the parent body on a regular basis.
